We started in Newry on the 27th, the snow and ice had all evaporated the day before leaving perfect conditions for poker. As the game got underway we had a good feeling for the week as we went past the Guarantee the night was a great success,a sign of things to come.

Seamus Devlin came out on top at the end of play taking the heads up from CharlieMcAlister.

Feeling good after Newry we were very happy going to Clonmel with the idea that we might have as many as 70 on the night. However we were not ready for what folowed with 97 players , not enough tables or dealers with us we had the most memorable night of poker since we took over last year, all I can say is that thanks to the support of all the players and some quick thinking we pulled it off.To the player who gave us a table from his van to the players who dealt to all our staff on the night we owe a huge thank you .

Timmy Maloney won the battle taking it down on the river from Martin O Connell.

Wednesday saw us with the two vans on the road Fionn heading for Ballina while i slipped down the road to Cork. Both venues were busy with 64 in Cork and just over the fifthy in Balina . Stephen Quinn was very pleased to take the title in Cork having been pipped at the post a couple of times before, while a seasoned campaigner Annette O Carroll once again took the crown in Ballina.

Fionn stayed over in Ballina so by the time he got to the Loft on Thursday night we had 74 runners capping off a great week Gemma Walsh reached yet another final table but it was down to a Waterford man Philip Drohan to take the spoils , having been down and very nearly out five handed .
