Good afternoon and welcome to live coverage of day two of the 2nd annual Celtic Poker Tour grand final.

 

This is day two of a two day event. Today will determine who takes the Celtic Poker title 2007.

 

The players are currently taking their original seats and being redistributed with their original stacks.

In addition to the main tournament 'The CPT Open' has commenced here at day two of the Grand Final weekend at The Dolmen Hotel in Carlow.

The players in the main event are seated once again and Level 15 with blinds at 3,000/6,000 has commenced.

Leaving in 36th position is Garry Fields who's 10's were called by an A, Q with an Ace on the river.

 

Leaving in 35th position is Alan Gurren who's A, J was called by an A, Q with a Q on the flop

 

Leaving in 34th position is Raymond Flynn. Raised by 25K, Flynn went all in for 30K with a 10, 9 diamonds against 7's. 7's win.

Leaving in 33rd position is Eamon McManus who's A,Q was called by J's. J's win.

 

Leaving in 32nd position is Graham Henoy. His A, K was called by 10's. An A on the flop put him ahead, however, a 10 on the river and his 'Goose was cooked'.

 

Our last lady in the tournament leaves in 31st position. Sue Haughton's 9's were called by Bobby O'Donnell A's with A's winning.

The tournament has now entered level 17. The blinds are now at 5,000/10,000. At this point there is now an Ante of 1,000 being introduced.

Leaving in 30th position is Paul Gavin. His A, 4 was called by a K, 5 with a 5 on the flop; no help for Paul on the turn or river ended his tournament night.

 

Leaving in 29th position is Pat 'The Horse' Breheny. Pat's A, Q was called by Eddie Walsh, who had A, A. 'The Horse' has a flush draw on the turn but no joy on the river.

 

  19.10

Brendan McCormack's all in with K, Q suited called by Paudraig O'Connor with A, 5 suited. A on the flop for Paudraig and another on the river sends Brendan to the rails!

 

Kevin Haughney leaves the tournament in 27th position when he called Dermot Duignan's all-in with A, 9 suited. Dermot held A, Q off. No help for either player on the board.

There are now 26 players remaining in the tournament. Level 17 has now been put on hold as the players take a well deserved meal break!

Play has resumed with 26 players remaining.

Alan Jordan is next to go with A, J called by Colm Quarry with pocket K's. With no help on the flop, turn or river, he exits in 26th place.

 

Stephen McParlan, short stacked, pushes all in on J, 7 called by Francis McCormack with A, K. With no help on the board he leaves us in 25th place.

 

Next to go is Larry Doherty who pushes with Q, 10 and is called by a monster in the form of pocket A's by Alan Doherty. Larry hits a Q on the flop but Alan hits an A and the final nail in the coffin was the fourth A on the river. Larry leaves us tonight in 24th position.

Stephen Quinn is next to leave us with 10, 6. With a Q, J, 2 on the flop Mark Flanagan checks his J's, Stephen pushes, Mark calls and J's win. Stephen goes out in 23rd position.

 

Mike Leahy is next to fall when he calls Bobby O'Donnell's all-in. Bobby shows Q, 10; Mike has pocket 2's. Mike is ahead until the river when Bobby hits a Q to send Mike out in 22nd position.

 

In the spirit of sportsmanship, the final 21 players have decided to take €1,000 from the winners prize and include the bubble, 21st position, in the prize fund. From here on out, everyone's in the money!

The tournament is now in Level 18 with the blinds at 6,000/12,000 and an ante of 2,000.

Mick Dunne pushes all-in with A, 3 and with only 30,000 to call, is called by the big blind in the form of Peter McGowan with Q, J suited. A 3 on the flop, J on the turn and Q on the river seals his fate, but he's happy enough with the bubble prize and smiles for the camera as he accepts his €1,000.

Hand:

Dermot Duignan pushed all-in for 40,000. He was called by Tony O'Connor. Colin Quarry re-raised to put Tony all-in for 52,000. Dermot showed pocket 8's. Tony showed K, J off and Colin showed A, 10 off. The flop came 8 high and there was no help for Tony on either turn or river. Dermot took down the main pot. Colin took the side pot and Tony went to the rails leaving us in 20th position.

John Flynn leaves the tournament in 19th position.

 

Hand:

John pushes with K, Q off 125K. He's called by Bobby O'Donnell A, 9 suited. The flop comes 6, 7, J; no help, 8 on the turn. A 9 on the river gives Bobby a pair of 9's sending John to the rails.

Paul Townsend leaves the tournament in 18th position.

 

Hand:

Paul Townsend pushed with Q, J off, called by Mark Rayburn with A, K. King on the flop, turn and river no help for Paul.

Mark Flanagan leaves the tournament in 17th position.

 

Hand:

Mark pushes all-in 62K with J, 8, called by Tom O'Rourke with pocket 3's. Tom fills 10's and 3's, Ace high, sending last years winner to the rails in 17th place.

Eddie Walsh leaves the tournament in 16th position.

 

Hand:

After the flop which was A, J, 9, Eddie pushes all-in with A, 10 suited, called by Martin Noonan who had two pair on the flop; A's and 9's, sending Eddie home.

Paul Currims leaves the tournament in 15th position.

 

Hand:

Paul pushes into the blinds with K, 4 clubs but finds Frances McCormack with pocket Q's. 2 clubs on the flop and a Q of spades on the river send Paul home.

Padraic O'Connor leaves the tournament in 14th position.

 

Hand:

Padraic pushed all in with A, 10 off for 136K. He was called by Frances McCormack who had pocket rockets, no help on the board , Padraic to the rails.

Alan Kelleher leaves the tournament in 13th position.

 

Hand:

The flop came 4, 5, 8. Francis McCormack raised. Alan went all-in having hit top pair. Francis called with two pair, 8's and 5's sending Alan back to Clancy's pub in Youghal.

Dermot Duignan leaves the tournament in 12th position.

 

Hand:

Dermot Duignan was the big blind. The flop came 4, 8, 7 including two spades. Alan Doherty bet 30K. Dermot went all-in, Alan called with A, 10 off. Dermot had four of a flush and a good shot straight draw, but got no help on the turn or river, sending him to the rails.

Clive Hayes leaves the tournament in 11th position.

 

Hand:

Thomas Gallagher raised big blind Clive Hayes 100K. Clive re raised all-in. After a long deliberation Thomas decided to call and flipped over pocket 8's. Clive turned over pocket J's. The flop came 10, 7, 8 giving Thomas a set. No help on the turn or river ended Clive Hayes' tournament life in 11th position.

Now that we have reached the final table, the highest hand of the tournament has been declared.

 

From day one of the tournament, Tony O'Connor, with his straight flush to the King of Hearts takes the prize.

Tom O'Rourke leaves the tournament in 10th position.

 

Hand:

Tom Gallagher raised 100K. Tom O'Rourke re raised all-in 196K and was called. Tom Gallagher shows Q, K suited, Tom O'Rourke, A, K. The flop comes Q, Q, 9. Set for Tom Gallagher. No help on the turn or river. End of the road for Tom O'Rourke

Martin Noonan leaves the tournament in 9th position.

 

Hand:

Martin Noonan moves all-in. Called by Peter McGeown. Martin shows pocket 2's. Peter Q, K. Flop - A, K, 10. Turn 10. Only a 2 could save Martin now. No luck on the river. Martin heads back to Cork in 9th position.

Colin Quarry leaves the tournament in 8th position.

 

Hand:

Colin goes 281K all-in. Called by Francis McCormack. Colin ahead with pocket J's. Francis shows two over cards A, Q. Flop - Q, A, 2 putting Francis way ahead. No help for Colin on the turn or river. Francis takes down the pot and sends Colin home in 8th position.

Terry Loughnane leaves the tournament in 7th position.

 

Hand:

Terry Loughnane moves all-in. Bobby O'Donnell calls and shows pocket 8's. Terry turns over A, 7. Flop comes K, 9, 10. Bobby still ahead. Turn, 2 and river, K, giving Bobby K's and 8's and showing Bobby the door in 7th position.

Thomas Gallagher leaves the tournament in 6th position.

 

Hand:

Tom goes all-in. Peter McGeown calls. Tom has pocket 3's and Peter shows pocket 6's. Tom needs a little help. Flop - 4, J, 2. Still behind, no luck on the turn or river for Tom, Peters pair of sixes holds up sending Tom out in 6th position.

Bobby O'Donnell leaves the tournament in 5th position.

 

Hand:

Francis McCormack raises 160K. Bobby calls. Flop comes A, Q, 10. Bobby moves all-in. After a bit of thought, and the fact that he was pot committed, calls. Bobby turns Q, 10 and Francis shows pocket 6's. Only a six can take Bobby out of the tournament. Turn, K. Old man river, is a SIX! Bobby goes home in 5th position.

The current level is level 22 with the blinds at 20,000/40,000 and an Ante of 2,000.

Peter McGeown leaves the tournament in 4th position.

 

Hand:

Mark Rayburn moves all-in for 317K. Peter calls. Mark shows A, 7; Peter A, J. Flop - 8, 10, 7, sending Mark into the lead. No change on the turn with a 3. Only a Jack can now save Peter but in typical Texas style the river brings a 7 to put the final nail in Peters coffin.

The current chip leader is Mark Rayburn with 1.7 million.

Alan Doherty leaves the tournament in 3rd position.

 

Hand:

After a raise from Francis McCormack, Alan re raises all-in and is called by Francis. Alan shows pocket K's. Francis turns over pocket J's. Flop, 6, J, 3. Francis bags a set of J's, no help for Alan on the turn or river!

Alan, who was playing on behalf of Thomas Byrne of 'Bruce Betting' goes out in 3rd place.

ITS ALL OVER!

 

Hand:

Raise, re raise, Francis moves all-in. Mark thinks long and hard and decides to call. Francis flips over  pocket Q's. Mark turns over A, 8. Flop comes 7, 7, J. Turn, 4, River a rag. Francis is the new Celtic Poker Tour champion for 2007.

 

With that, the rail birds erupt. The Celtic Poker Tour grand final 2007 is over.

 

Congratulations to Francis McCormack who receives €35,000 cash, a ticket to the Irish Open Poker Championship 2008 worth €4,500, a ticket to the Macau Casino  Winterfest Freezeout worth €1,000, a ticket to the CPT Grand Final next year including a top up courtesy of BetFair, entry into the last level of the BetFair WSOP Guaranteed Ticket tournament worth $1,000 and an enormous engraved crystal trophy.

 

Congratulations also to this years runner up Mark Rayburn who receives €15,000, a ticket to the Irish Open worth €4,500 and a ticket to the Macau Casino Freezeout Winterfest worth €1,000.
